Mark Richt Expects Bloody Gamecocks Matchup

Mark Richt

The South Carolina Gamecocks are set to play the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend, and the smack talk has already began. It isn’t coming from any of the players but rather from Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt.

“I’ve got a feeling this game could get a little bloody,” Richt said. “I think both teams are tough, physically, and I think both teams have got outstanding backs that can pound. I know both teams know how to throw and catch, I think history has proven that, but before it’s over it may get down to a little bit of a fistfight.”

The Bulldogs are riding the wave of Todd Gurley, who already racked up 198 yards rushing and three TD’s in the season opener against a highly touted Clemson team. The Gamecocks rushing attacked includes Nick Davis. When the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs met last year, Gurley and Davis amassed 281 yards between the two of them.

The game will definitely give college football fans something to look forward to on Saturday.
