NCSU had the game in their hands but as soon as FSU found their momentum, they didn’t let up and defeated the Wolfpack 56-41.
Jameis Winston rallied his team to an incredible come back in Raleigh, NC but of course NCSU wasn’t too happy they let this happen, even one of their teammates, Dave Doeren, went as far to say that FSU faked their injuries to slow the Wolfpack down. As usual, a student spoke out before he thought about his words and he recently had to take to his twitter to apologize to the Seminoles for his statement.
“I have apologized to Jimbo Fisher & want to apologize to his staff, players & FSU fans for my comments that took away from a tremendous football game,” Doeren said in a series of tweets. “I left an emotional locker room & took those emotions w/ me to the press conference. It was a great college football game with tremendous plays made by both teams. That is where the focus deserves to be. I have the utmost respect for Jimbo, his staff and players. FSU played a great game and earned the win.”
Jimbo Fisher spoke out against Doeren’s statement as well.
“I accuse him of not knowing what he’s talking about,” Fisher said. “We did not fake injuries. We wouldn’t do that.”
Im sure Doeren was just emotional after a hyped game that was seemingly in their hands. Losing isn’t fun to anyone, especially a game that was lost after an amazing first half.
