The Panthers should not be applauded for waiting until the very last minute to make a decision on Greg Hardy’s playing status. Hardy has already been convicted of a domestic battery in July and is waiting on an appeal of his case. In the wake of all of the attention that the NFL has received this week due to the Ray Rice situation, it was a surprise to many that Hardy was even considered being active for today’s game. Hardy’s deactivation does not affect his pay, he will make 772,000 for today’s game.
