Ronda Rousey has been cleared to resume training after having knee and hand surgery following her July UFC Fight. One of her first training partners is none other than UFC lightweight #1 Contender Gilbert Melendez.
Melendez and Rousey roll for about 5 minutes in the video featured below and Rousey nearly lands her trademark arm bar a few times during the session. Seeing training sessions such as these makes a lot of fans wonder whether Ronda could compete in the men’s division. Melendez fights at 155lbs and Ronda at 135 lbs in the women’s division. She seems to have the strength necessary to roll with Melendez which means she’d probably fair well against men 20 lbs lighter than him.
