Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry made a surprising move last year to leave Nike to sign an endorsement deal with Under Armour.
It seemed like Kevin Durant was going to follow in the same footsteps this week until re-signing with Nike for a massive deal. Some folks joked about why KD would stay with Nike, most in part due to many think the Under Armour shoes are very ugly.
Here’s what ESPN’s Bomani Jones wrote on Twitter:
“your call.” RT @Hashtag26: I bet the nike meeting [w/durant] was just Phil knight placing Steph Curry's shoe on the table and walking out

Stephen Curry, even while all the way overseas as he competes in the 2014 FIBA World Cup for Team USA, caught hold of that tweet and defended his sneakers.
Here’s what he wrote, with Jones’ response aftewards:
@bomani_jones dang man why you have to come at me like that? Don't hate on what you don't know about
— Stephen Curry (@StephenCurry30) August 31, 2014
@StephenCurry30 wait, is this about the shoes?
— Bomani Jones (@bomani_jones) August 31, 2014
@bomani_jones yeah the KD mention about my shoes. saw u just RT'd a line but didn't like the slander of my kicks like we're non factors
— Stephen Curry (@StephenCurry30) August 31, 2014
Jones hit back with the best reply:
@StephenCurry30 cash those checks, my dude.
— Bomani Jones (@bomani_jones) August 31, 2014
@bomani_jones haha respect

Nice to see this turn into a normal conversation instead of two men arguing over sneakers.
However, in regards to Curry’s Under Armour shoes … no, sorry, I just couldn’t wear them.
