Bucs Agree To 7-Year, $98M Extension With Gerald McCoy

Gerald McCoy October 2014

Jay Glazer is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to agreed to terms with Gerald McCoy on a seven-year, $98 million extension.

The Buccaneers obviously feel McCoy is just as dominant a player as the Texans J.J. Watt. Houston signed Watt to a six-year, $100 million extension, with $51 million guaranteed. McCoy received that same $51 million guaranteed as well.

McCoy has lived up to the lofty billing after being selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

McCoy was also named first-team Associated Press All-Pro following the 2013 season.
