Reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant recently underwent surgery to repair a fractured bone in his foot and will miss the first month or more of the NBA season. With expectations at an all-time high for the Oklahoma City Thunder, fans are hopeful that Durant, who will be re-evaluated in six weeks, will be back sooner than expected.
Not so fast, says the MVP.
Durant on possibly coming back sooner: "Nah, I'm not going to rush it all. That's one thing I'm not going to do."

Knowing the player that KD is, this definitely has more to do with him wanting to fully recover from the injury rather than him not wanting to play. Still, it is a bit interesting to see the All-Star rule out any idea of an early return, especially after teammates Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka both came back much earlier than expected from major injuries last season. Regardless, Thunder fans can’t wait to see their MVP back out on the court and leading their team.
