The St. Louis Cardinals have a heightened awareness of the explosive situation in the streets of St. Louis and are taking extensive measures to keep fans safe during the Saturday and Sunday NLCS games. Angry protestors are clashing with police due to the shooting deaths of Michael Brown and Vonderrit Myers Jr., both where killed by police gunfire. A representative for the team told TMZ.
“Our people have been coordinating with the St. Louis Police Department and Major League Baseball security” in an effort to protect the fans.”
The representative noted to TMZ that there is always increased security during the playoffs but due to charged racial tension there is potential for chaos.
