Adrian Peterson’s child abuse trial was scheduled to begin sometime in the next four weeks. The Vikings running back will reportedly reach a plea agreement today to resolve the case.
Per Pro Football Talk, Peterson will plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor reckless assault.
If the agreement is accepted, Peterson will pay a $2,000 fine, be placed on probation, and perform 80 hours of community service.
Peterson’s next step will be to get himself fully reinstated. Peterson has already miss eight games with pay, and unless the NFL decides to add on to his suspension, Peterson could return to his team in time to join the Vikings for their next game against the Bears.
