Jerry Rice On Harbaugh: “I think He’s Gone”

jim-harbaugh, Luck

Losing always bring out the truth in most situations, where as winning always put makeup on certain situations. In the case of the San Francisco 49ers who are 4-4 and coming off a lost to the St. Louis Rams Sunday, Jim Harbaugh job security is once again up for discussion. This time Hall of Famer and 49er great Jerry Rice added his 2 cents to the table. Rice bluntly put Harbaugh time with the 49er organization as is:

“I think He’s gone”

Not encouraging words coming from an all time great but Jerry Rice has connections to the 49er organization that we as the public might never have. Rice cites Harbaugh beef with general manager Trent Baalke and desire to stay the 49ers head coach as reason some players in the locker room has tuned Harbaugh out. Rice also stated that Harbaugh coaching style is wearing players out.

“I think there might be a little disconnect between Jim Harbaugh and some of the players. His approach to the game, not being willing to listen to those veteran players. Almost like it’s my way or you’re out the door.”

It would seem crazy that an organization would let a head coach walk away after taking a team to 3 straight conference championship games and a super bowl. With the 49ers record at 4-4 and division leading Arizona Cardinals at 7-1 its looking like the 49ers are on the cusp. Winning cure all but if losing continues I might be reporting Harbaugh next job.
