The Oklahoma City Thunder are hurting without their two stars, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in the lineup due to injury, however have no fear BIG PERK is here…well at least according to him.
Despite only being able to put nine players on the floor against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night, the Thunder ended up defeating the Kings 101-93. During a stretch in the early part of the game, Thunder big man Kendrick Perkins was so amped up while getting a standing ovation after making a play, he could’ve sworn he was hearing MVP chants from the fans. Daily Thunder’s Royce Young reports:
Perk on getting a standing ovation in the first quarter: “It felt good. I thought I heard a couple MVP chants.” I told him I didn’t hear any of those. “Yeah, neither did I. Just in my head.” Perk is the best.
Kendrick Perkins winning the MVP award is about as likely as “Da Real Lambo” winning a grammy, but I digress. Whatever Perk and the Thunder need to tell themselves to try to win ball games is fine by me.
