8 Fights UFC Fans Hope to See in 2015

The UFC is starting the new year with an amazing match up between Jon Jones & Daniel Cormier but there are plenty of other fights fans would love to see in the near future.

Here’s a list of fights we hope happen in 2015:

1. Conor McGregor vs Jose Aldo

McGregor is the most captivating fighter in the UFC and the build up to a title fight vs Aldo will rival the old Jones vs Sonnen beef.

2. Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm

Fans just Rousey to be tested and who better to test the champ than a woman with legit KO power and striking skills. Holm wouldn’t last 15 seconds on the ground with Rousey but she has a shot if she can keep this fight upright.

3. Jon Jones vs Cain Velasquez

Regardless of the UFC 182 outcome Jones will look to move up to heavyweight soon. He doesn’t enjoy the weight cut and sees a chance to establish himself as the best fighter of all time by capturing a title in another weight class. Cain Velasquez hasn’t been healthy in awhile but he’s still the best in that division and he’ll want revenge if for some reason Jones beat DC.

4. Anthony Pettis vs Khabib Nurmagomedov

Pettis is positioned to be the next UFC Superstar. He has the looks to make him marketable outside of the octagon and the raw talent to dominate within it. Nurmagomedov is a beats in the cage and he is undefeated for a reason. He’d be Pettis’ toughest test to date and he has all of the tools to pull the upset.

5. Anderson Silva vs Georges St. Pierre

Sure this fight would’ve been 10x bigger 3 years ago but even at this point of their careers it’s still a fight fans want to see. Both fighters will have overcome injuries and both would be looking to have a marquee fight to add to their legacies. GSP has been rumoured to be walking at 210 lbs of pure muscle, so a fight at 185 lbs isn’t that much of a stretch.

6. CM Punk vs Anyone

CM Punk made a huge splash by announcing his entrance into the UFC, but we still don’t know if he ca compete at the highest level. He isn’t as big as Lesnar and has nowhere near the resume. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s more than just a money grab.

7. T.J. Dillashaw vs Urijah Faber

I know it seems as though it’ll be boring to see two great friends fight in the octagon, but that’s not true at all. These two are supreme competitors and with the recent injuries it has opened the door for Urijah Faber to once again try his hand at UFC gold. This could be the perfect ending for the ‘California Kid’ even if it has to come against a friend in Dillashaw.

8. Demetrious Johnson vs John Dodson

I know we’ve seen these two fight before but a rematch between the two most dangerous 125 lb fighters would be amazing. ‘Mighty Mouse’ has proven to be the king of 125 but Dodson has the one punch power that can take the title way in a blink. Dodson will be returning from injury sometime this summer and it’d be great to see these two go at it again. Remember Dodson has a victory over 135 lb champ TJ Dillashaw, so he’s more than capable of being champion.
