Murphy started three games this season, catching 31 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games before being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
The speedy Murphy is a good complement to dynamic, offensive rookie of the year candidate Mike Evans and veteran Vincent Jackson.
