Recap
The curveballs keep on coming from the committee. Just when you think you are getting inside of their heads they do something to throw you off the trail. This week they did that by putting TCU in the three spot ahead of Florida State despite the Noles staying undefeated. I’ve said before I am against the continuous dropping of the defending champs despite their tendency to play in close games week to week and I am not veering off that path here. I think Florida State deserves to be 1 or 2 at this point with an unblemished resume, period. What now gets interesting is the battle between Baylor and TCU. With Baylor barely surviving against Texas Tech on the weekend, they missed a key opportunity to close the gap on TCU, who beat up on Texas on Thanksgiving. I just don’t see Baylor leapfrogging the teams in front of them in this point unless they fall on their face this week. One thing I think is clear, the Big 12 needs to change it’s “One true champion” slogan because obviously the conference format has done nothing but muck up things a bit.
