John Harbaugh Knows Jim Is Done With 49ers

Jim Harbaugh, John Harbaugh

It stopped being a secret a long time ago, but for some reason, everyone chooses to tiptoe around the subject of Jim Harbaugh’s exit out of San Francisco.

It’s likely to happen swift and in a hurry this Sunday, likely preceding the annual Black Monday for NFL coaches. With Harbaugh saying nothing about his future, Ravens coach John Harbaugh seems to acknowledge the obvious fact that his brother is indeed headed for a new chapter.

“I know just from Jim’s standpoint, he’s done something there that’s been absolutely historic and amazing, it’s never been really accomplished in the history of football before, in terms of what he’s done for the city and for the fans there and for the players there,” John Harbaugh told CSNBaltimore.com on Monday. “And I’m proud as heck of him. Whatever’s next for him, he’ll do a great job there, whatever it is. He’ll be fired up and excited to do it. So I’m proud of him no matter what happens. I think they had a great coach there for the last four years, and they were blessed and fortunate to have him. I know the fans realize that and the players realize that, and that’s really what counts.”

Jim Harbaugh is entering his final days as the San Francisco coach, after taking the team to three straight NFC title games (and one Super Bowl) in his first three seasons.
