Mark Cuban is the ultimate boss, and his acquisition of Rajon Rondo is the perfect example of big business being taken of care of the most awkward of places.
Cuban, the Mavs owner and Star of ABC’s ‘Shark Tank,’ was on hand for the epic finale of “The Colbert Report” Thursday night, but was a little distracted by some huge business.
While the other celebrities were sitting around chatting about Colbert’s future, Cuban was busy finalizing and closing the Mavs trade for Rajon Rondo.
According to Keith Olberman, Cuban apparently gave the final green light on the blockbuster (and ultimately inevitable) trade for All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo while sitting in the green room with other celebs:
From #Colbert Farewell: @MarkCuban finalized Rondo deal in green room, sitting w/Waterston, Daniels, me + dismaying UN Amb. Samantha Power

That is amazing, and even more awesome than Cuban closing the Chandler Parsons deal in the club. Cuban made it clear that he was ecstatic about landing Rondo.
Mark Cuban is a big believer in basketball IQ and Rondo’s is off the charts. Cuban also is bullish on the 6-1 guard’s rebounding ability. Here’s what the owner had to say about the acquisition of Rondo:
“He is intense, he knows how to play. He immediately becomes our second-best rebounder. He pushes the ball and his length gives us more defensive options.
“And I think you will see an inspired player with something to prove when he puts on a Mavs’ uniform.”
