The tailback wrote “I Can’t Breathe” in black letters across his blue warmup shirt before the Detroit Lions’ game Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bush’s shirt refers to Eric Garner, a black New York man who died after a white police officer placed him in a chokehold while making an arrest for the sale of loose cigarettes.
