Anderson Silva is a few weeks away from his UFC 183 fight against Nick Diaz but he already knows what his next step will be if he wins.
Silva made it very clear that he is open to taking another shot at Chris Weidman and UFC President Dana White says he can have it if he’s victorious.
“2015 is starting off with amazing fights — Probably the best January in the company’s history. And all these fights lead to bigger fights,” White said.
“Diaz and Anderson Silva are fighting, and obviously if Anderson Silva wins that fight, and whether Vitor or Weidman win that fight, then you have Anderson Silva versus either one of those guys,” the UFC president.
The problems begin when/if Vitor Belfort defeats Chris Weidman for the title because Silva has no desire to fight a countryman for the belt.
“If I have the chance to fight for the title again against Weidman or another fighter other than a Brazilian, I would fight for sure,” Silva said.
Silva just doesn’t seem like the same fighter he was a few years ago and it doesn’t look like his heart is into being a champion anymore.
