Booker T took the place of Jerry “The King” Lawler at the commentary booth Monday for RAW. Well it looks as though what seemed like a temporary change while Lawler was out sick is now becoming permanent. The WWE has announced that beginning January 12th, there will be a new commentary team on RAW and Smackdown via WWE.com.
Michael Cole, JBL and Booker T will be the announcers for RAW while Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and Byron Saxton will be working the Smackdown booth. There will be no changes for WWE Pay-Per-Views as Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL will continue to work those. It seems that the WWE is slowly trying to push Lawler out with his most recent illness.
