This is a cool story, and a obvious must if the town doesn’t want anarchy on its hands from other Ohio towns. Oregon, Ohio–thats right it’s not a mistake–will temporarily change its name for one-day on Jan 12, in support of Ohio State.
According to the Toledo Free Press, the city wants nothing to do with that name on the day of the game.
“I grew up in Oregon, Ohio and love the city, but for the day of the ‘Big Game’ I am asking the city council to make a proclamation to change the name of the city,” the petition reads. “Call it Buckeye Town, Ohio City, Brutusville, whatever, you get the point. Let’s not leave anything to chance here! Change the name and support the Buckeyes!”
I can only assume it will be Brutus or Buckeye Ohio for one night.
