Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak will remain in Baltimore next season, the team announced Sunday, one day after a season-ending loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.
Kubiak reportedly became the top target for Chicago on Sunday, but he likes the comforts of Baltimore.
“It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions, and I greatly appreciate these opportunities,” Kubiak said in a statement. “But I have decided to stay with the Ravens.
“This is a special organization and we, like [Head] Coach [John] Harbaugh says, are building something great. I want to be a part of that and contribute in whatever ways I can.”
Kubiak, 53, was hired by the Ravens before this season after being the Houston Texans’ head coach from 2006-13.
The Ravens finished the regular season 10-6, eighth in scoring (25.6 points scored per game) and 12th in total offense (364.9 yards per game).
