Top prep defensive back Tim Irvin just switch his committment from Texas to Auburn because as he put it this weekend to AL.com, Auburn brought him in like he was family.

The four-star athlete flipped his commitment from Texas to Auburn after just two nights in town.

“I felt like it was comfortable,” Irvin hours after his commitment. “It was a nice place when I first came on the campus. I felt like the coaches and players brought me in like I was their child. I just felt like I was at home.”

Irvin’s de-commitment will now be scrutinized after he posted this picture of a wad of cash.

Chris Brown reported that Irvin quickly cleaned up his twitter feed, deleted the money tweet and claimed that his grandmother gave him the money for graduation.

Auburn defensive coordinator Wil Muschamp began recruiting Irvin to Florida when he was a freshman at Westminster Christian School in Miami, Fla. Irvin hinted at Muschamp as the biggest reason for his switch.

“It was just Coach Muschamp an T-Rob and the relationship I had with those guys,” Irvin said. “They were like a dad to me. During my recruiting process I talked to them almost every day. They’ve been with me since Day 1 and that’s why I want to play for those guys.

“(Muschamp) reached out to me probably the second day. Coach (Gus) Malzahn was telling me he asked (Muschamp) ‘Who do you want?’ and he said ‘I’ve got to get Tim Irvin.’ When he told me that, I felt like I can be an impact in the defense.”

Irvin committed to Texas earlier this month during the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio over Florida, Miami and West Virginia. Irvin contacted Texas head coach Charlie Strong Saturday night before flipping Sunday.
