Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey is making it clear that the team is nothing with James Harden.
“Take James Harden off our team, and we’re nowhere,” Morey said.
Morey made Harden to Houston possible in 2012, and in turn, Harden is having possibly the best season of his NBA career. Several people have touted him as the league MVP thus far. With Dwight Howard out of the lineup due to injury, the fact that Harden has been able to step up for the team has been huge in a highly competitive western conference.
Houston outscores opponents by 6.2 points per 100 possessions when Harden plays and get outscored by 3.2 points per 100 possessions when he sits.
Plainly speaking, Morey is right.
