Jim Harbaugh is focused on getting Michigan back to the top of college football, and he’s going to do it by any means necessary.
Nick Baumgardner of MLive.com is reporting that Harbaugh has hired the mom of a Stanford graduate transfer considering Michigan. Gwendolyn Bush, the mother of former Cardinals’ cornerback Wayne Lyons, has been hired by Harbaugh to an athletics player development staff position.
Typically, a director of player development helps coordinate off-field activities for players, and helps them balance football, academics and other responsibilities throughout each year. Per her LinkedIn page, Bush was formerly an teacher/administrator in the Broward County Public School system in Florida.
Lyons was originally recruited by Harbaugh’s staff at Stanford in 2011, but the defensive back never played for Harbaugh before he bolted to San Francisco.
