University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh wanted everyone to know that his leaving the San Francisco 49ers was not mutual and that he was fired. Harbaugh appeared on the TK Show Friday to talk about his departure from the team.
“I was told I wouldn’t be the coach anymore, And then … you can call it ‘mutual,’ I mean, I wasn’t going to put the 49ers in the position to have a coach that they didn’t want anymore.”
These comments were surely in response to 49ers owner Jed York issued statement after Harbaugh leaving that “Jim and I have come to the conclusion that it is in our mutual best interest to move in different directions,”
Rumors swirled all season that this would be Harbaugh last season. In Harbaugh final season the 49ers went 8-8 and missed the playoffs after going to 3 straight NFC championship games.
