Miami Marlins All-Star Giancarlo Stanton just made history with his record-breaking contract extension November 2014 and instantly gained more media attention for himself and his two-time World Series-winning franchise. Giancarlo signed a 13-year, $325 million deal, the richest in North American sports history to date. Stanton is quickly becoming one of Major League Baseball’s current day superstars and he added another accomplishment to his resume.

Sports Illustrated offered Giancarlo the cover, and it’s the only one of it’s kind to date. Giancarlo is now the first cover model to be featured in full body paint.

Giancarlo is shown holding his bat with both of his arms crossed over his chest. The cover features him painted in a white Miami Marlins jersey and his infamous orange sleeve.

This isn’t Stanton’s first cover however. In 2013, Stanton appeared on one of the covers for ESPN the Magazine’s Body Issue.
