Four NXT Divas Steal the Show
For those of you who are regular readers of my WWE recaps, you know I’m not the biggest fan of the way Diva matches and storylines are handled on WWE television. But last night, four NXT Divas fought for the Divas title and absolutely stole the show.
We started off with Sasha Banks (swoon) and Becky Lynch teaming up to throw Bayley out of the ring and pick apart the Divas champ Charlotte. Both Divas take turns beating on the champ, and then simultaneously go for the cover attempt. Banks gets in Lynch’s face and reminds her she’s the Boss and this is her title match, and proceeds to go for a pin.
Nope. Lynch reminds her this is every woman for herself with an awesome toss that literally sends Banks flying out of the ring.
Now Lynch is in control, but it’s not long before Banks makes her return. Charlotte breaks up a near-fall and now she’s in control. The Champ tries to spear Banks but instead hits Lynch, and now Charlotte and the Boss are staring each other down. The challenger tries to rush Charlotte and well…
Bayley hits the ring at the perfect time and we get this awesome combo move that pretty much kills Sasha Banks.
With Banks and Lynch incapacitated, Bayley tries to take control hitting a couple of splashes in the corner on the Divas Champ. Bayley hits her finisher, the Bayley-to-Belly of course, but Lynch pulls her out of the ring before she can get the 1-2-3. Bayley and Lynch battle on the outside and Bayley hits an awesome dropkick to the floor on Lynch and both Divas are down. They being to stumble back towards the ring, but Banks decides to take advantage of their prone states.
Awesome Suicide Dive from Banks takes out both Lynch and Bayley! Wow!
But let’s not forget, this is a Fatal Fourway, and Charlotte is still in the match. The Champ decides that anything Banks can do, she can do better and Charlotte shows off her athleticism with this awesome splash to the outside and her three competitors!
Now all four Divas are battling on the ropes and the outside, and eventually we end up with Bayley and Charlotte on the top turnbuckle…
MASSIVE Bayley-to-Belly off the top rope on the Champ for the 1..2… AND BANKS BREAKS UP THE PIN!
Banks tosses Bayley out of the ring and tries to steal the pin but Charlotte kicks out at two for the near-fall. Sasha goes ballistic and locks in a cross-face on Charlotte, pulling her neck all the way back in a vicious hold. She lets go to kick Lynch off of the apron and then locks the hold in again as Charlotte tries to crawl to the rope for a break. It looks like she’s going to make it until Banks reverses course and rolls her up for the 1..2…3!
Your winner.. AND NEW NXT DIVAS CHAMPION SASHA BANKS!
It’s good to be the Boss.

Hideo Itami defeats Tyler Breeze – Itami is having the toughest transition to NXT of any of the new stars in the promotion. He picked up a solid win here over Breeze, but it was painfully obvious that he is still struggling to get over with the crowd. A character change seems like a good idea at this point.
Baron Corbin defeats Bull Dempsey – This was a weird match. Dempsey pretty much beat Corbin down the entire time, then went to grab a chair since it was no DQ and ate an End of Days instead for the 1-2-3 and Corbin win. Seems kind of pointless to have this billed as a no DQ final showdown between the big men and then have no weapons used but sure.
Blake & Murphy defeat the Lucha Dragons (NXT Tag Team Championship Match) – This was easily the sloppiest match of the night. It started off with Kalisto slipping on the ropes while trying a senton to the floor, and continue with Sin Cara basically reversing every Murphy move into a pin attempt. The crowd at NXT was definitely vocal, letting Kalisto know he messed up and also booing loudly as the match continued it’s slow, awkward pace.
