Al Haymon is taking over the boxing world and the latest reports have him adding ESPN to the laundry list of networks that’ll host his PBC events in 2015.
BoxingScene.com says “Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions is headed to ESPN.”
What they didn’t say was whether or not he’d be replacing Friday Night Fights or creating his own imprint on a different day. Haymon already has deals with NBC, BET & Spike TV. He’s also rumored to be in talks with Telemundo and CBS Sports.
Many fans may be wondering how Haymon will fill all of these cards, but currently he has 160 boxers under contract and those fighters can always fight a fighter contracted elsewhere.
The Haymon takeover has begun and his company will only grow when Richard Schafer joins him after his suspension is up in two years.
