Adrian Peterson is going to be a hot story as the 2015 NFL season starts getting into focus. Some have already pegged Peterson being gone from the Vikings backfield but Minnesota Vikings Owner and President Mark Wilf isn’t ready to let go just yet.
Mark Wilf says #Vikings would love to have Adrian Peterson back, if he takes care of things with the NFL.

Wilf is putting on a strong front but there is an issue deeper than “love” here. AP has the highest salary of any running back in the NFL next season counting $15.4 million against the salary cap off of a $12.75 million base salary. The Vikings have Peterson under contract until 2017 so nothing is impossible, but I have to imagine that if AP stays a Viking they really need to restructure that contract to bring his salary cap number down some. Of course this is assuming Roger Goodell and the NFL reinstate Peterson for next season, which he should.
