Alonzo Mourning spent his entire adult life being a defensive stalwart — so he knows a thing or two about protecting the rim.
Mourning had his share of battles with Michael Jordan, and the two-time Defensive Player of the Year says the GOAT would average “almost 50” points per game in today’s NBA.
“You wouldn’t be able to touch him on the perimeter, so he’d be shooting a ton of free throws,” Mourning told Katie Nolan on her FOX Sports show, “Garbage Time”.
Mourning also mentioned that he would have liked to see LeBron James play back when he and Jordan were doing battle in their primes.
“It’s not the same game,” he said. “I would have loved to have seen LeBron play in the 1990s.”
