Bama RB Tyren Jones Arrested for Weed

TyrenJonesArrested

Suspended Alabama running back Tyren Jones was arrested for possession of marijuana in Tuscaloosa, after he and some friends were pulled over by the police.

A Tuscaloosa police report states Jones was in a car stopped on 10th Avenue with the smell of marijuana. Officers found digital scales in the Dodge Challenger belonging to Brandon Lee Hansberry, who was also arrested.

A small amount of marijuana was found in the pants pocket of Jones.

Jones was charged with second degree possession of marijuana. He was released on $1,000 bond. Two other unidentified passengers were in the car but were not charged with a crime.

Hansberry was charged with first degree marijuana possession, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to Tuscaloosa County Jail on $20,000 bond.

Jones becomes the third Alabama football player arrested in the last four days. SafetyGeno Smith was arrested early Saturday morning for DUI. Later that day,Jonathan Taylor was charged with domestic violence and was dismissed from the team Sunday

Through six spring practices, Jones has yet to participate. His indefinite suspension was announced Feb. 10 for “conduct not to the standard of the Alabama football program,” coach Nick Saban said.

I have no clue what is going on in Tuscaloosa, but it seems some players are having a hard time walking the straight and narrow. Jones has already been suspended from the team twice and was already suspended when this arrested occurred. If you’re Nick Saban, you have to come down hard on Jones and send a message.
