The Detroit Lions will not franchise tag Pro Bowl DT Ndamukong Suh. The Lions can still resign Suh but without the tag this give Suh more leverage in getting a new deal.

N. Suh would have carried an unprecedented $36.6M cap in 2015 ($26.9M franchise tag + $9.7M dead cap); 25% of the #Lions projected cap.

With Suh taking 25% of the salary cap no wonder the Lions decided against using the tag. This became more about money then the Lions desire to keep Suh.
