With the news coming out this morning that Arizona State would be moving on from head coach Herb Sendek, speculation immediately began to arise on who his successor would be. The name that appears to be gaining the most traction right now is current Duke assistant and former Duke player Jeff Capel. ESPN’s Andy Katz is reporting that Capel is a strong candidate to replace Sendek, and that Capel would seriously consider the job if he were offered it.
Let me strengthen that last tweet: one source has said Duke’s Jeff Capel is a strong candidate to get the ASU job. Will be interesting.

Would be surprising if Jeff Capel didn’t take ASU if official offer made. Great situation in league where there is movement behind Zona.

Jeff Capel has 9 years of head coaching experienceat VCU and Oklahoma, and even led the 2009 Oklahoma Sooners to the Elite Eight with superstar Blake Griffin on his roster.
