The wooing of free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has officially begun and there is no shortage of suitors. After it was reported that the Miami Dolphins felt confident in landing Suh, it is now being reported that he is going to meet with the Oakland Raiders next week.
That new home could be the Oakland Raiders, who plan to meet with the fiery All-Pro defensive tackle next week, according to the NFL Network.
Suh, who would have made $26.7 million next year if the Lions would have used the franchise tag on him, made the Pro Bowl four of his first five seasons in the NFL. But his on-field antics – such as stomping on opponents and various illegal hits on quarterbacks — have led to multiple fines and suspensions.
The Raiders have plenty of financial flexibility – more than $57 million in cap space – to sign Suh, who has spent his first five seasons with the Lions.
Suh is already one of the most notorious players in the NFL, so he would be a hand in glove fit in black and silver. With having as much cap space as they do Oakland can certainly make a very lucrative offer to Suh as they try to get him to the Bay Area, but will money be enough in the end?
