The Saints are defintely staying active in the new NFL year. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is now reporting that the Saints have reached an agreement with former Buffalo Bills RB CJ Spiller. The Saints already have a crowded backfield with Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson still on the roster. Spiller is probably best suited as being a change-of-pace back, rather than being a featured runner who can receive 20 carries a game. With the Saints trading away Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills, it may be the sign of a shift in the way the Saints will run their offense. As Drew Brees ages, maybe the Saints intend to run the ball a lot more, taking pressure off of Brees, who is coming off of a down season filled with interceptions.
