9. New York Giants (6-10) – Brandon Scherff, OG, Iowa: The New York Giants main problem is health. It seems as though they’ve lost 6-8 key players to injury each season since their Super Bowl run. With that being said, they still have holes to fill and places where they can improve. Offensive line seems like the area of need for the G-Men. Many believe that a pure offensive tackle like Andrus Peat is the way to go but the Giants need a little nasty on their line which is why they grab Scherff instead. He could end up at RT, RG, or LG for the Giants next season.
10. St. Louis (6-10) – Kevin White, WR, WVU: St. Louis is another team in position to get the best player available. They are going to hand the offense over to Nick Foles this season and their defense is stout thanks to their 4 1st round picks along the front line. The Rams choose to get Foles a shiny new weapon in White. White is different from the small slashers they’ve drafted in the past, he’s a true #1 and can open things up for the speedy Austin underneath.
11. Minnesota (7-9) – DeVante Parker, WR, UL: Minnesota is expecting Adrian Peterson to cave in and rejoin the team at some point this offseason which means Teddy B. will have a huge upgrade in the backfield. They decide to make him even more comfortbale by reuniting him with an old pal.
12. Cleveland (7-9) – Todd Gurley, RB, UGA: Cleveland has 2 1st round picks in this draft and QB doesn’t seem to be a priority with either *Cue Manziel Fan Club*. The Browns have used free agency to patch a few of their holes but they can always get more playmakers. Todd Gurley has Top 3 talent and a QBs best friend is a strong running game. Gurley and JFF in the same backfield is enough to make SEC fans drool.
13. Chicago (5-11) *Trade w/ NO* – Arik Armstead, DT/DE, Oregon: The Bears trade down because they honestly have no one that they are in love with at 7. The players they would’ve grabbed have had drug run ins during the draft process and they are still unsure of snagging a WR that high. They move back and get a mountain of a man to stick in the middle of their defensive line. .
14. Atlanta (6-10) *Trade w/ Mia* – Shane Ray, DE, Mizzou: Atlanta traded down to collect draft picks because they are a team with a lot of holes. They’re the definition of #LifeComesAtYouFast and they need to get younger at a lot of spots. They are happy to see that Ray is availble for them at 14. Once thought of as a Top 5 guy, Shane was injured during the pre-draft process and he got busted with weed in his car. A deadly recipe for dropping in the draft.
15. San Francisco (8-8) – Nelson Agholor, WR, USC: San Fran was blind sided this offseason by the retirement of two of their best defensive players, Willis and Borland. They also lost their coach, their best offensive lineman and their franchise running back. So pick a position and the Niners could probably upgrade it. Here they decide to get one of the most dependable players in the draft, their typical strategy, and pull the trigger on Agholor. He gives them a young set of hands for Colin to grow with instead of surrounding him with a musical chairs of veteran WRs.
16. Houston (9-7) – Kevin Johnson, CB, WF: Houston’s front seven should be amongst the best in the AFC entering the 2015 season and nothing helps out a defensive front more than great coverage on the back end. Johnson has jumped ahead of Waynes as the best pure corner in the draft and Houston will give him a chance to make an immediate impact.
