Audio has emerged from after the shooting involving Michael Slager, the cop charged with the murder of unarmed man, Walter Scott. He is heard in this new audio laughing about his adrenaline pumping. He asks another officer what is going to happen to him next after the shooting.
According to the Huffington Post:
“What happens next?” Slager asked in the recording captured by a patrol car dashcam.
The senior officer explained other cops would bring him back to the station, take his gun and then they’d send him home before asking any serious questions.
“Probably once they get you there, we’ll take you home,” the officer told Slager. “Take your crap off, take your vest off, kind of relax for two or three.”
“It’ll be real quick,” he said. “They’re gonna tell you you’re gonna be out for a couple of days and you’ll come back and they’ll interview you then. They’re not going to ask you any kind of questions right now. They’ll take your weapon and we’ll go from there. That’s pretty much it.”
The senior officer also urged Slager to write down his recollections of the incident.
“The last one we had, they waited a couple of days to interview officially, like, sit down and tell what happened. By the time you get home, it would probably be a good idea to kind of jot down your thoughts on what happened,” he advised. “You know, once the adrenaline quits pumping.”
“It’s pumping,” Slager said, laughing as he spoke.
It has not been confirmed that the actual voice on the audio belongs to that of Slager, but it’s pretty evident it’s him. Slager seems pretty calm and at ease to be laughing after just killing an unarmed man. It’s really sad that both officers in the audio took this murder so lightly and made it seem like something to just brush off. Everything is coming to the light about this shooting and Slager, soon, won’t have the last laugh.
