It was evident Dana White and the UFC had finally seen enough from Jon Jones when they suspended him indefinitely and stripped away his UFC title.
Dana went on ESPN and gave a quick explanation of the thought process behind the decision:
“A lot of people know, Jon’s had a lot of chances,” White said Wednesday on ESPN’s SportsNation. “This one was his last chance. He’s got to handle his business outside of the Octagon and then we’ll see where he goes from there.”
The warning signs had been there with Jon so it’s nice to see that Dana didn’t act blindsided by this recent situation. The next big decision will come when Dana has to decide when it is right for Jon to come back to the UFC. Will he receive an automatic title shot? Will he be the same fighter? Above all else, will he be clean?
