Malzahn Upset Harbaugh Chooses Bama Camp

GusMalzahn

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn has been with the team for two years and holds a 20-7 record and a BCS National Championship appearance. Malzahn is all about being a good sport on the field, however isn’t feeling too happy about Michigan stepping into his territory.

Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan staff are working at a satellite camp in Prattville, Ala., in June and Malzahn is not pleased.

While the SEC has a rule against other teams holding camps more than 50 miles from their campus, the rule does not apply to other conference, therefore does not apply to Michigan.

But not only will Michigan’s staff will be in Alabama on June 5, but they’ll also be at camps in Florida, Pennsylvania, and California.

Malzahn, along with other SEC coaches want the rule to apply to every conference.

“I think the SEC coaches last year made it clear that we’d like it to be that way throughout the country,” Malzahn said to the Montgomery Advertiser. “That was a stance after our last spring meetings and I still feel the same.”
