In the midst of the Blue Devils basketball team practicing in anticipation of Saturday’s Final Four game against Michigan State and Coach K being blasted on CNN for not commenting on Indiana’s controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the institution is dealing with yet another incident on campus.
A noose was found hanging outside of a building on Duke’s campus that houses several diversity offices centered about diversity and equality. Carolina Blitz has more details on the story, but the University’s president has already issued a statement denouncing the action.
“I can’t begin to describe the disgust and anger I felt, and still feel,” Moneta wrote. “Though it has since been removed, the photos are everywhere and its hateful message will sadly pervade and persist for a long time.”
