The desire to play both sports is admirable and was noted by Texas Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels, but the organization won’t push Russell Wilson.
Over the weekend, Daniels responded to pondering question of indeed Wilson will play for the Rangers,
“Russell has the competitiveness and work ethic to where he’d have a shot if he committed to baseball.“
Daniels ended the interview this to say.
“Obviously, he’s got a pretty good thing going on with the Seahawks, and we’re not going to get in the way of that. Playing quarterback is more intensive than the positions of other guys wh have attempted to play both sports.“
With his contract negotiations looming with the Seattle Seahawks, one has to wonder if Russell Wilson will put this two-sport athlete on hold. This commitment to playing baseball is increasing and should affect the dollar amount the Seahawks organization want to invest in their franchise quarterback going forward.
