Cowboys Won’t Trade Draft Picks for Adrian Peterson

The Dallas Cowboys have been one of a handful of teams linked to Adrian Peterson for weeks now.

With rumors of the Vikings wanting a first round pick and cornerback help, experts have pegged the Cowboys as the team most willing to part with draft picks for Peterson.

During an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones completely shut down the idea that the team would use draft picks to acquire Adrian Peterson.

Peterson was reinstated by the NFL last week after spending most of last season on the commissioner’s exempt list while facing child abuse charges in Texas. After being suspended for the final six games of 2014, the All-Pro running back won’t serve any additional games this year.
That fact has been enough to fuel speculation that the Cowboys could attempt to trade draft picks – and perhaps players – to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for the Texas native.

Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon are among the top names to look for.
