Shaq caught a break in the lawsuit filed against him from Instagram posted last year. A Michigan man Jahmel Binion sued Shaq for defamation after Shaq posted a picture on Instagram with a caption making fun of Binion. The judge said that Shaq was wrong for the picture but because of a jurisdictional technicality the lawsuit had to be dismissed. Becuase the lawsuit was filed in Michigan and Shaq has no property in Michigan the Michigan judge does not have jurisdiction.
Jahmel Binion suffers from a rare disorder hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, that causes a reduced ability to sweat, sparse hair growth, missing teeth and facial deformities.
