La’el Collins believes he’s a first round talent, and he’s prepared to prove. The former LSU offensive lineman is embroiled in a mini-controversy after his ex-girlfriend was murdered last week.
Collins was hoping to have his name cleared before the start of Thursday’s first round, and that didn’t happen. Now via his agent, Collins is prepared to sit out a year if he’s not drafted tonight.
La'el Collins and his reps have decided if he's not selected tonight he will not sign a contract with a team and will renter draft next year

Collins’s reps have stated that if he’s not selected in Rounds 2 or 3, he won’t play. If a team drafts him after Round 4 or later, he’ll decline to sign with that team, and he also wouldn’t sign as an undrafted free agent. Instead, Collins would re-enter the 2016 draft.
