Blake Sims took Alabama to the first CFB Playoffs last season as the quarterback and entered the 2015 NFL draft. Sims went undrafted however signed a UFA contract with the Washington Redskins.
At Redskins camp, their is already a battle between RG3 and Kirk Cousins, and Sims wants no part of that.
Instead, Sims has been working out with the running backs. Sims joins a backfield that includes incumbent RB Alfred Morris and the Redskins draft pick in the 2015 draft, Matt Jones.
Jay Gruden, coach of the Redskins has nothing but praise for Sims, who played RB in high school. Sims has a knack for making the first defender miss, which is why the Skins are testing him out at RB. With a loaded backfield, it will be interesting to see if Sims makes the roster in Washington, however a switch to RB could provide Sims with a chance to sign with another team at that spot if he gets cut.
