Some will call this a shot, but all Brooklyn Nets head coach Lionel Hollins did was speak the truth on a point guard with eroding skills.
Williams is set to make $43 million over the next two-years, so finding a taker for his astronomical contract is not likely to happen.
What exactly will the Net do with the broken down floor general.
Hollins believes the Nets and fans should accept Deron Williams for what he has truly become — just another NBA point guard.
“He’s not a franchise player anymore,” Hollins said. “He’s a good player, he’s a solid player, but I don’t think he’s a franchise player anymore. That’s just my opinion. He’s a good player.
“I’m proud of the way he’s bounced back and played and there’s so much pressure on him to be a franchise player. … Everybody talks about a franchise player, and we need to have a franchise team.”
