During last night’s series clinching victory, Klay Thompson took a huge knee to the head from Rockets’ forward Trevor Ariza. Thompson wouldn’t return to the game and was said to have been showing signs of having a concussion.
Klay’s father, Mychal, was on Mike & Mike this morning and said a few things that are red flags for concussions:
Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports added from Thompson’s father, Mychal: “He said he just needs a good night’s sleep. Threw up [and] says he feels a lot better.” Mychal also noted that Klay was unable to drive himself home.”
We will have to see how the Warriors handle Thompson heading into the NBA Finals. They have a week to test him and clear him for action but with concussions the timetable depends on the last day he shows signs of symptoms, not when the concussion was suffered.
