Laila Ali, the daughter of three-time heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, went for the throat of Floyd Mayweather after the undefeated fighter proclaimed he was a better fighter than her dad.
Ali, called Mayweather a “little boy” and a “broken person.”
She made the comments on CBS’ television program We Need To Talk in reference to Mayweather’s recent comments about her father as well as Mayweather’s alleged history of domestic violence.
Ali appeared on We Need To Talk and discussed Mayweather. She says that Mayweather should feel like he is the best, “but that doesn’t make what he said true.”
Ali said she doesn’t hate Mayweather but doesn’t like the way he treats people, adding that she is “definitely not down with this beating on women because that’s very cowardly.”
“There have been times I’ve wanted to reach out to him and have a conversation with him, because I see a little boy even though he’s a grown man. I see a broken person,” Ali said. “I know when you have money and you have ‘power’ and you have all these ‘yes’ people around you, sometimes you don’t have that person to pull you aside and give it to you straight.”
