Your neighborhood drive-thru at the grocery store could now be a criminal’s next way to get drugs out to the community.
Via Gossip Extra:
Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office deputies quietly raided a popular West Palm Beach grocery store Thursday and arrested one of its owners after a confidential informant made 17 drug buys at the store and at the drive-through window over the past three months.
Owner Murad “Chico” Abdeldayem allegedly accepted EBT cards, the cards that are replacing public assistance food stamps, in payment for the drugs, beer, cigarettes and other items that are illegal to purchase on the welfare program.
We’re told the drug-selling was run like a legitimate business, including discounts for good customers!
Abdeldayem, 38, is being held at the county jail on $30,000-bond. He’s charged with a litany of felonies, including fraud, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug equipment.
How long did he really expect to get away with this?
