Mark Jackson displayed nothing but class and sportsmanship as he was broadcasting the Warriors vs Rockets game last night.
Although Mark Jackson is an extremely professional individual, you can’t help but wonder how he honestly feels to be in the commentator side instead of the coaching side of things. The Warriors have made it this far in the playoffs and with last night’s show, they practically have the series in the bag.
“I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish the three years I was there.” Jackson said in an ESPN conference call. “A lot of hands and a lot of great work by players, by ownership, by management, by my staff, I’m so proud of that. I’m thrilled that they’re continuing that. It’s an unbelievable accomplishment, and it’s a lot of recognition across the board, including the current staff of Steve Kerr and his guys. It’s good to see what they’ve been able to accomplish.”
He has nothing but amazing things to say about coach Steve Kerr.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for him.” Jackson said. “He’s a class guy, and our relationship has always been the same. Nothing but respect and appreciation for one another, and I’m happy for him. There’s never been or will be an issue between Steve and I. We talk every so often, and when I call the games, he’s been extremely kind and generous and obviously supportive.”
It’s great to see these relationships still maintain a solid bond. There’s no need to burn bridges in any industry.
